Rutgers Global Asias welcomes colleagues from the Law and Medical schools to speak on Law, Health and Policy in their research and community engagement.


Sahar Aziz, JD, Professor of Law and Chancellor’s Social Justice Scholar (Rutgers Law). Sahar Aziz’s scholarship examines the intersections of national security, race, and civil rights with a focus on the adverse impact of national security laws and policies on racial, ethnic, and religious minorities in the U.S.


Sunanda Gaur, MD, Professor of Pediatrics (RWJMS) Dr. Gaur has been the Director of the Robert Wood Johnson AIDS Program in New Brunswick since 1995, one of the largest Pediatric HIV Programs in New Jersey. Dr. Gaur also serves as the co-director of the South Asian Total Health Initiative (SATHI), a research, outreach and education initiative dedicated to improving the health of South Asians living in the United States.


Karen Lin, MD, Professor, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, and Assistant Dean for Global Health (RWJMS). Dr. Lin has served on the medical school’s alternative medicine, and multicultural education committees. Among her numerous research projects, she received a seed grant from Rutgers Global Health Institute for the Health Passport to Healthy Living program at HIPHOP Promise Clinic.
